Returning To Your Rhythm: A December Reflection

There is something about December that asks the truth out of us.Not loudly. Not with pressure. More like a gentle pull on the sleeve that says, Come on. Slow down. Look at what this year has shaped in you.
December carries a quiet kind of power.
Completion. Reflection. Renewal.
A shift from forward motion into soft awareness. A moment where the body and spirit finally agree to sit still for a second and breathe.
As the nights stretch long and the days turn inward, the energy changes.Nature curls in. The sky darkens earlier. The world around us becomes quieter. This is not a mistake of the seasons. It is an invitation.
December invites us to practice a deeper kind of listening. Not to the noise. Not to the expectations. But to the soul that has been whispering all year.
This month brings the final Full Moon. The Cold Moon. A moon that reflects the spirit of winter itself.
Still. Silent. Necessary.
It calls for warm connection, soft rituals, nourishing food, early nights, and the kind of rest we often delay. When we honour this season, we find that something inside us begins to settle. The sharp edges soften. The heart stretches. The mind breathes.
But the truth is, December can pull us out of balance just as easily. Deadlines. Late nights. Travel. New people. Busy calendars. Trying to finish the year in a sprint.Pushing past what our bodies are built for at this time of year. And when we push too far, the imbalance speaks. Overwhelm. Tiredness. Low mood. And sometimes illness.
So this month, I want to remind you of something simple and real. A truth that carries more weight than any resolution or to do list.

Your rhythm matters.
Not the rhythm others expect. Not the rhythm the world sets.Your rhythm. The one your body knows even when your mind forgets.
This is a month for coming home to that rhythm. For stepping into the stillness without fear. For reflecting on what this year has taught you. For acknowledging the endings you needed. For welcoming the quiet beginnings you can feel on the edge of the horizon.
Below is the spoken word piece I created to honour this season. A reminder to return to your fire, your truth, your light, in a way that feels both powerful and grounded.
A taste from my poem
Put your focus back on you today.
Yes, YOU.
The centre of your own solar system.
The spark you keep pretending is nothing special.
When you choose yourself, something shifts.
Your orbit expands.
The right people rise to meet the frequency you stand in.
Aligned energy opens the right doors.
Quiet miracles return to you.
The universe leans in and whispers, You are ready.
This poem was written for December.
For you.
For the moment you remember your own magic.

How to honour this month
• Practice gratitude for the small and the significant
• Slow your pace and soften the pressure
• Make time for rest, tea, candles, breath
• Set intentions for the coming year with clarity not force
• Spend time with people who let you be fully yourself
• Honour the darkness as sacred time, not lost time
• Sleep earlier. Nap when your body asks.
• Step into the moonlight and let it speak to you
• Meditate each day, even for a minute or two
December is not empty. December is preparation. A quiet gathering of energy before the return of the light.
And when you are ready to step back into your own rhythm, I am here.
Whenever you are ready to return to your own rhythm, my sacred space will rise to meet you with open arms.
Thank you for being part of this work and this community.
This month is an invitation.
Take it gently.
Take it fully.
